On page 1684 there is a mistake (wrong exponent for R in the last term) in the equation for the size-dependence of the band gap (or more precisely, of the energy of the lowest excited state) in semiconductor nanocrystals. The correct equation is as follows:
where Eg is the band gap of the bulk material, µ is the reduced mass of the electron-hole pair (to be calculated from the effective masses of the electron and hole) and R is the radius of the nanoparticle.
The rest of the article is not affected by this mistake.
