The second paragraph of the introduction should be changed as follows (the new sentence is underlined for clarity):
GO has also been incorporated into a variety of polymer matrices, such as poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA), epoxy and others, as reinforcement fillers, and many of them have shown significant improvement on the mechanical properties.19–25 Significant synergistic effects have been observed when two different types of nanocarbons are incorporated in a polymer matrix.i Thus, one may expect that GO can be used to disperse the CNTs in polymer matrix because of its hydrophilic nature; and a combination of GO and CNT may improve the mechanical properties of polymer nanocomposites. Despite the anticipated potential, this synergistic approach for polymer nanocomposites has not yet been reported.
