The authors apologise for incorrect information introduced in the bottom of the first column and beginning of second column of page 841, concerning the disruption of the Rv3030 ortholog in Mycobacterium smegmatis. The sentences should read:
“Annotation of M. tuberculosis H37Rv and M. smegmatis mc2155 genes in the TubercuList (http://tuberculist.epfl.ch/) and SmegmaList (http://mycobrowser.epfl.ch/smegmalist.html) databases confirms that Stadthagen and colleagues successfully disrupted the Rv3030 ortholog in M. smegmatis and noticed a dramatic reduction in MGLPs content.18 While the involvement of this putative methyltransferase (Rv3030) and of the glycosyltransferase (Rv3032) in MGLPs biosynthesis is indisputable, the association of these genes to genuine biochemical functions remains to be confirmed. Nonetheless, new important insights on the role of MGLPs in mycobacterial physiology emerged from these studies as the independent inactivation of these genes led to severe growth impairment of the corresponding mutants at high temperatures (39–42 ºC).18"
The Royal Society of Chemistry apologises for these errors and any consequent inconvenience to authors and readers.
