Nuclear energy in the UK: priorities for new build, funding and developing the supply chain

3 March 2015, United Kingdom

Introduction
This event is CPD certified

With Government aiming to have the first new nuclear power stations online and operational by 2019, this conference will examine the prospects and future of the UK nuclear energy industry.

Delegates will consider the role nuclear power will play in any future low carbon UK energy mix, the progress of Hinkley Point C one year on from its confirmation, as well as an assessment of alternative new build sites currently in development. Planned sessions also focus on investment within the sector, including manufacturing and skills development, plans for new waste disposal sites and the environmental concerns large scale nuclear projects bring to local communities. The challenges in managing the transition of new build projects alongside the retirement of inefficient nuclear sites will also be considered.
