The focus of the conference will be on the transition from understanding and predicting properties towards the rational design of material systems that qualify for being complex and adaptive. These are not simple materials, but systems that possess properties, which so far are only known for living organisms or man-controlled machines like robots. We believe it is very timely to discuss together with physicists, chemists and also interested researchers from life science the state of the art and the particular challenges given by the gap between assembly of molecules to materials and developing molecular systems that can actively interact with feedback mechanisms and have the ability to perform work. Participants can expect a highly inspiring program with an excellent set of speakers.
DWI – Leibniz Institute for Interactive Materials, RWTH Aachen University and the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems jointly organized the Kármán Conference for a limited number of 130 participants. We cordially invite you to submit abstracts for poster presentations.
The registration fee is 870 € and includes symposium participation, accommodation and meals (afternoon of October 11 to lunch on October 15, 2015). The registration fee does not include expenses for the social program, which will be offered in the afternoons.
The conference is limited to 130 participants and we will have to close registration once this limit is reached.
