Retired Members' Springtime Social

26 April 2016, Sheffield, United Kingdom

Introduction
During the tour we will see the last complete surviving curcible furnace in the UK, with demonstrations within the site's Forge Workers' Village. The tilt forge which was built in 1785 houses two massive tilt hammers driven by the site's main waterwheel. Abbeydale Works was once the largest water-powered industrial site on the River Sheaf.
