10 March 2016 18:00-20:30, London, United Kingdom

Introduction
Dr Robin Harrison (Synthomer) will review the evolution of synthetic latex used in the manufacture of medical gloves over the past few decades. This will connect how a number of significant high level drivers have helped shape the industry and have led to a number of technology advances both in polymer technology and the production process for disposable gloves.  An insight to the current market and technical challenges for this industry will also be presented.

Dr Robin Harrison gained his PhD at the University of Sussex in Organic and Polymer Chemistry and subsequently carried out postdoctoral research at the Universities of Colorado and the IRC in Polymer Science & Technology at the University of Durham. He started his industrial career in contract research before moving to Arizona Chemical, where he held a number of R&D roles.  In 2007 Dr. Harrison moved to Synthomer where he is now Innovation Director leading the business’ global product and technology development programme.
