NSFC-RSC International Symposium on Novel Polymer Synthesis to Solve Tomorrow's Problems: Healthcare, Materials and Energy

27 - 28 September 2016, Hangzhou , China

Introduction
Tomorrow’s society faces many challenges, such as harvesting energy in more sustainable ways, developing new medicines and diagnostics for healthcare, and engineering environmentally-friendly materials with better performances. To address those global challenges, polymer synthesis can play a vital role. Recently, innovative methodologies in polymer synthesis have been developed and reported in large number and continue to grow rapidly.

As a world’s leading chemistry community, we are pleased to collaborate with the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) to bring this exciting and informative scientific meeting in novel polymer synthesis, hoping to stimulate more ideas in tackling future challenges in the aspects of energy, healthcare and materials. This free symposium will bring together leading Chinese and international experts in polymer synthesis, including established scientists and outstanding early career researchers, in order to share expertise and best practice and discuss cutting edge research and applications. Young research fellows and students are also encouraged to participate and present flash talks and posters.

The symposium is fully supported by the NSFC and the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), and is hosted by Zhejiang University. The local chair is Prof Zhikang Xu from Zhejiang University.
