3rd Agriscience Chemical Biology Postgraduate symposium

Synopsis
The Biological and Medicinal Chemistry Sector (BMCS) of the RSC and the AGRI-net are hosting a postgraduate symposium for PhD and postdoctoral students undertaking chemical biology research in areas related to agriculture and the agrisciences. Chemical biology in this context is referring to physical sciences tools and technologies (in chemistry, physics, mathematics and engineering) which are being applied to tackle biological problems on a molecular level.  All students and researchers utilizing a combination of chemistry and fungal, insect or plant biology in their research projects, from any UK or European university, are invited to attend.

Call for Posters
Those who were interested in presenting their PhD or post-doctoral work were asked to submit a half-page abstract.
Those selected by the organising committee to give oral presentations will be notified by 28th February. Please download your registration form from this webpage.
Prizes will be awarded for the best two oral presentations and for the best two posters.

Programme Overview and Keynote Speakers
The technical programme will comprise
-  three plenary speakers
-  eight oral student presentations
-  some flash presentations from students
-  some talks from academic and industrial keynote speakers.
Lunch will be provided.

- Chris Rosinger, Bayer CropScience, Germany
- Daniel Kloer, Syngenta, UK

Registration
Registration is FREE for all academic attendees, but places are limited so please register by completing and returning a registration form to the secretariat.  Also be sure to notify her should your attendance plans change.

Registration for industrial participants from non-sponsoring companies costs £50.  You may register online using your card or by completing and returning the registration form (to receive an invoice for settlement by bank transfer).

Travel Bursaries
The travel costs of students selected to give an oral presentation will be refunded. All other participants will need to cover their own travel and accommodation costs.
