We cordially invite researchers and postgraduate students working in the field of chemical sciences to join this conference, which is going to be held at St Giles The Wembley Hotel from August 16th to 18th, 2017 in Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia. It is dedicated to create a platform for the sharing of the recent advancement in chemistry-related researches and to promote the networking between researchers.
The International Conference for Young Chemists (ICYC) is a biennial conference organized by the postgraduate students of the School of Chemical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia with the aim to bring local and international researchers together to facilitate interaction and networking among researchers in the field of chemistry. The idea of this conference started back in the year of 2001, where it was known as the Regional Conference for Young Chemists (RCYC), targeting postgraduate students and researchers from the Asia Pacific Region (Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, India and Japan). What used to be the Regional Conference for Young Chemists (RCYC) has been developed and rebranded into the International Conference for Young Chemists as we known today. Researchers from all around the world rather than just from the Asia Pacific region are being targeted.
As one of the four basic sciences, together with Biology, Physics and Mathematics, researchers in Chemistry are also buoyed by the advancing trends; researchers need to keep up-to-date with the latest advancements of emerging fundamental technologies and knowledge. This conference serves as a platform for researchers from around the world to communicate, discuss, interact and share their findings in various fields in chemical research. The ICYC will follow a similar program to scientific conferences, which consists of oral, flash oral and poster presentations. In addition to that, prominent researchers in their respective fields of Chemistry will be invited to deliver plenary lectures to inspire and share their knowledge with the younger generation of upcoming researchers. Industry players will also be involved by exhibiting their products and services during the conference.
