Lorentz workshop ‘Structured soft interfaces: caught between multi-scale simulation and application’

23 January 2017 09:00 - 27 January 2017 17:00, Leiden, Netherlands

Introduction
We are welcoming applications for this workshop. Please send an email to the local organiser of the workshop (a.sevink@chem.leidenuniv.nl) to express your interest in participation and add a short (2-3 sentence) bio about your contribution to this field. The workshop is free of charge, apart from personal travelling and housing costs. The Lorentz Center will provide work spaces during the week (with internet), daily lunches and a conference dinner.

Submission of abstracts is not needed at this stage. Since the number of participants of Lorentz workshops is limited to 45-55, admission will depend on a number of conditions.

A selection will be made after the deadline of December 1, 2016. To streamline this process, we ask you to express your interest before November 25, 2016 (Friday).

We are particularly welcoming applications of 5-10 early stage scientists (PhDs/postdocs). There is a small budget for compensating travelling and housing costs.

Registered participants:
Marino Arrayo, Edgar Blokhuis, Fernando Bresme, Martin Buzza, Alexander Boker, Kostas Daoulas, Karen Edler, Jens Harting, Lucio Isa, Shuji Ishihara, Alexander Kros,Alexey Lyulin, Philippe Marcq, Giuseppe Milano, Francisco Monroy, Hiroshi Noguchi, Mitsusuke Tarama, Larisa Tsarkova, Ilpo Vattulainen, Jan Vermant, Michele Zanini

In the Lorentz setup, topical discussions of the status, challenges and prospects are considered most vital for a successful workshop. In our workshop, we will also allocate time for discussion of possible collaborations. As a consequence, there are only a limited number of 30-minutes slots for oral presentation, primarily to fuel and stimulate these discussions. Upon registration, you will be able to express your interest in an oral/poster presentation.
