This event aims to bring together young and eminent scientific researchers from the UK and Indian institutes towards building international connections and thereby improving the quality of their research. A Newton-Bhabha Researcher Links Workshop has been arranged under the aegis of the Newton-Bhabha Fund, The University of Manchester, UK and the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Kolkata, India, the British Council, and the Royal Society of Chemistry, UK.
The theme of the workshop is: "Functional NanoMaterials: From Spectroscopy to Bioimaging" with a focus on (but not limited to) optical/potential optical properties of nanomaterials. The workshop will be held in the campus of IISER Kolkata, India during 14th to 16th December 2017.
The workshop will involve invited lectures from experts in India and the UK, talks from young researchers, practical demonstrations and hands on experimental sessions alongside networking, innovation, funding opportunity and career development sessions and a vibrant social calendar.
The Newton workshop has travel funds for approximately 18 early career researchers from the UK and all expenses will be paid except for a nominal registration fee of approximately £60.
