Kathleen Pinfold, Chemistry Laboratory Scientist at the WALTHAM Centre for Pet Nutrition, has kindly offered to host a meeting and tour of the WALTHAM Centre in Leicestershire on the morning of Tuesday the 23rd January 2018, from 09:30 to 12:30. The meeting will include presentations introducing the Mars company, providing an overview of pet nutrition and an insight into the types of chemistry involved in the current and historic activities at the WALTHAM Centre. Following the presentations, attendees are invited to attend a tour of the facility which will last approximately 1.5 hours and will involve standing/walking for most of this time. The tour route can be adapted to suit mobility needs and attendees can choose to meet some of the friendly resident pet animals. Attendees can be provided with laboratory coats to protect clothing from muddy paws, if necessary. No other personal protective equipment is required for this visit although wearing footwear which is suitable for walking/standing during the tour is recommended.
