Introduction
This seminar will provide an introduction to intellectual property for Chemistry researchers, ideal for any researcher with a basic or no knowledge of patent and other intellectual property rights.

The event will include discussions and practical sessions on topics such as patents (including more detailed considerations for chemical patents), non-patentable intellectual property (know-how, designs, trade marks, copyright etc.), assignments, licences and R&D collaborations.  The seminar will conclude with a networking drinks reception. The seminar schedule is set out below:

1:30-2.00    Registration with refreshments.
2:00-2:15    Introduction and overview of IP.

2:15-2:45    Patents (I) - the Basics.

2:45-3:15    Patents (II) - Chemistry Considerations.

3:15-4:00    Refreshment break and Practical Group Exercise.
4:00-4:30    Discussion of Practical Exercise.

                   trade marks and copyright.
