This FREE event is aimed at secondary and post-16 teachers of chemistry. It will be delivered as part of a Science Teachers Summit at the University of Wolverhampton.
Funded by the Royal Society of Chemistry, this spectroscopy evening will give teachers the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of the following analytical chemistry techniques:
nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)
gas chromatography - mass spectrometry (GC-MS)
infra-red spectroscopy (IR)
Academics and technicians will discuss the applications of the techniques and how the instruments function. We will also provide demonstrations of the equipment in action and try to answer your questions. You will be offered a tour of the Rosalind Franklin Science Building including the undergraduate teaching laboratories, project labs and instrument rooms.
We would also like to take the opportunity ask you how we can help with curriculum enhancement for your students. We already offer a range of activities for post-16 students which we would like to raise awareness of.
Light refreshments will be provided.
