On Sulphur is a programme of talks, screenings and discussion about sulphur the chemical element, sulphur as metaphor, and Sulphur an artwork by Sheila Ghelani. It is a sharing and bringing together of the process and research that Sheila undertook to make this work in early 2017 through a curated programme that includes: chemists discussing Sulphur the ‘diabolical element’ and its impact on the environment and humans, and invited artistic responses including films, writing, and short performances.
The day will feature a varied programme of installations, films, performances and talks, icluding;
Jo Hellier, John Hunter, Martin Langthorne, Prof Clive Oppenheimer (Professor of Volcanology, Cambridge University), and Tim Spooner, with more to be announced!
