Improve Your Understanding of Wellbeing and Resilience For Students

17 October 2018 14:00-17:15, Chatham Maritime, United Kingdom

This event is for RSC Members only Book now

Introduction
Could you spot the early warning signs of distress, anxiety or depression in yourself or your colleagues?

Would you feel able to talk and listen to someone experiencing these symptoms?

If not, then help is on the way with this course.

This workshop aims to help individuals better understand the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and know how to communicate with people they are concerned about. This is not a counselling course, but provides basic information about how to manage important first conversations, provides some practical skills and where to point people to relevant sources of professional help. It also offers tips on stress management and staying well. We know that understanding more about our own mental health enables us to help and support others much easier.

This workshop, which is supported by the RSC’s Chemists’ Community Fund, is open to all RSC members who are students and have an interest in the subject or would like to have a better understanding of mental health and wellbeing.

98% of previous attendees would recommend this workshop to a friend or colleague and they have said:

“It was very useful to learn the correct approach to dealing with depression/ stress situations.”
“It was a highly informative and very interactive session. Trevor’s knowledge of the subject was beyond question but his way of getting over a particular point was sensitive. I would definitely recommend this to my colleagues.”

Sessions are strictly limited to first come, first served so register today to guarantee your place. To register please use the book now button at the top of this page.
