Introduction
"There is a rising tide of type 2 diabetes and related diseases that threaten to overwhelm our NHS. Recently there has been much speculation that our intestinal microbiota are somehow involved. Does the history of these diseases support this idea? What conclusions can we draw?"

This lecture is hosted by the Royal Society of Chemistry Newcastle upon Tyne and North East Coast Local Section. 

The lecture will begin at 17:30, concluding at approximately 18:15 with time for questions and networking to follow.
