Introduction

This seminar will focus on regulation, planning, local power and democracy.  Leading academics and regulators will present on what the American experience has to teach the EU as well as reciprocal lessons that can be drawn from the EU experiences in energy transitions. There will be an emphasis on the socio-economic impacts of fracking on local communities and the role of democracy in planning decisions.
