The Committee of the Scottish Analytical Division of the Royal Society of Chemistry are pleased to extend an invitation for your school to apply for a place in the Schools Analyst Competition - North Scotland Heat, taking place on Friday 06th March 2020 at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen. Places will be allocated on a first-come basis.
The competition is open to teams each made up of three pupils studying Higher Chemistry (normally in year 12 / S5 or equivalent) and is designed to stimulate interest in analytical chemistry and to give school pupils a brief glimpse of university life. The competitors work as a team (each school may only field one team) to complete and report on three practical analytical chemistry experiments. The winners (1st, 2nd and 3rd place) will each receive small personal prizes and a prize for their school and the winning school will become holders of the RSC Scottish Schools Analyst Trophy for the following year. Additionally the 1st place winners will be invited to participate in the UK final in June 2020.
All reasonable travel expenses and lunch will be covered by the RSC. Contact Dr Kyari Yates for further information.
