This is a training session for teachers wanting to be a teacher mentor as part of our award-winning mentoring scheme. This scheme is open to any teacher who is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (any category of membership).
Why be a mentor?
Mentoring is valuable to both mentees and mentors. Mentors find the experience of helping another member rewarding as they help them to grow and 'address their own challenges, considering their relationships at work and thinking of the future'.
The benefits of mentoring
Join our scheme to help other members and:
“It was rewarding to know that my mentee now feels more able to teach A level Chemistry.” - current mentor
“Mentoring made me reflect on my own learning experiences and made me realise how much I had progressed. It was great to share ideas with enthusiastic, young teacher who highly valued my many years of experience.” – current mentor
Get involved
To register your interest please email mentoring@rsc.org confirming that you are interested in becoming a teacher mentoring and which Zoom session you’d like to attend. Further details, including Zoom login will then be sent to you. Alternative dates are available in May and June - please search our events for other available training dates.
