Introduction

The meeting aims at establishing an up-to-date picture of the UK's future research directions at the intersection of Physics, Chemistry, Nanotechnology and Material Sciences. Besides a scientific programme with talks on the research activities of the individual participants, the meeting will focus on the expectations and challenges faced by newly appointed academics.
