Chemistry le Cheile: Forwarding Careers of Women in Chemistry

9 December 2020 09:00-17:00, Cork, Ireland

Introduction
With this conference, we aim to promote the visibility of woman in chemistry, both by facilitating female PhD students to present their research to a wide audience from many institutions and by inviting various women in industry to discuss their career path and work.

Registration for the conference is free and open to any who wish to attend. All that is required is for them to register their interest through the Eventbrite link. The deadline for registration is Tuesday the 8th of December.

The event will host five guest speakers whose background ranges from the pharmaceutical industry, the environmental chemistry industry, as well as academic speakers. PhD researchers will present a 15-minute talk based on their research topic to enhance the understanding and display the range of options for research to undergraduate and school students.

We especially encourage final year undergraduate students to attend, to see the wide variety of research paths taken by PhD students, as well as the careers that can be obtained with a chemistry degree. Attendants will be able to ask questions of the speakers to get further information and will leave the conference with a greater understanding of the various research areas of female chemists.
