Introduction

Battery systems have great potential to broaden access to energy for education, healthcare, sanitation and many other contributors to well-being particularly where electricity grids are limited, expensive and unreliable. This panel will discuss the opportunities and limitations of batteries in the context of global development and where science and innovation can improve them towards achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
