Blossom Walk and buffet lunch at the National Fruit Collections, Brogdlae

21 April 2011, Faversham, United Kingdom

Introduction
The National Fruit Collections are the world's largest collection of fruit trees and plants and are situated outside of Faversham just 1 mile from Junction 6 of the M2. The Collection consists of over 2,200 named varieties of apple, 550 of pear, 350 of plum, 320 of cherry as well as bush fruits, nuts and grapes. Our family-friendly visit is timed to take place when many of the fruit trees will be in blossom. Being in the school holidays, we have arranged a nature trail for the youngsters led by staff from the Kent and Medway Biological Records Office.
