To overcome the impasse, new and more powerful approaches in the use of model systems genetics, in biomarker research, in the inference of predictive models and their translation to health management are needed.
This conference will explore these central issues, including the use of experimental models for understanding functional effects of genetic and phenotypic variation, prognostic prediction modeling, new genome-based diagnostics and treatments, and the interdependence of these issues with health care policies.
In addition, a major objective of this conference is to establish cross-disciplinary communication that does not currently exist.
