Biotransformations II: Science to Industrial Application

24 March 2023 09:30-17:00, London, United Kingdom

Introduction
The RSC Biotechnology Group welcomes you to this exciting one-day symposium, a follow-up to a meeting of the same title run in 2017. This second meeting in the series will highlight recent achievements, future challenges and current trends in the use of biotransformations and biocatalysis in the industrial biotechnology sector. The focus is on the discovery, modification and industrial application of novel enzymes for biocatalysis, as well as analytical and process engineering, synthetic biology, computational biology, biochemistry, microbiology, and chemistry, that are being harnessed to deliver new biocatalysts for the synthesis of chemical products.

Confirmed speakers:
We will also be selecting at least two additional early career speakers from our abstract submissions.

Prof. Don Hilvert: ETH Zurich
High-throughput engineering of biosynthetic assembly lines

Prof. Ross Anderson: Bristol University

Dr. Sarah Barry: Kings College London

Prof. Gideon Grogan: York University
Unspecific Peroxygenases: Expression, Application and Catalytic Promiscuity

Prof. Helen Hailes:  University College London
Enzymatic single-step reactions and the construction of biocatalytic cascades

Dr. Holly Reeve: CEO and Co-founder, HydRegen Limited
Biocatalytic hydrogenation: robust biotechnologies for sustainable chemical manufacturing
