Introduction

TAC 2023, the annual conference of the RSC Thermal Methods Group, will take place at the University of Huddersfield on Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th March 2023. The conference will be preceded by a short course on Monday 27th March, giving a comprehensive overview of thermal methods, which may be especially useful for early career scientists and researchers. Both events are free to attend.  
The annual conference covers all aspects of thermal analysis and calorimetry including applications and instrument developments. Confirmed speakers include: 

• Vesa-Pekka Lehto, University of Eastern Finland – Heat in nanoscale 
• Ignazio Blanco, University of Catania, Italy – The role of thermal methods in materials characterisation 

We welcome abstract submissions for oral and poster presentations, and particularly encourage submissions from early career scientists.  We will be awarding a Delegates’ Choice Poster Prize for the best poster. 

In addition, there will be the opportunity to connect with instrument manufacturers during the conference.
