COURSE OVERVIEW
Flow cytometry is a powerful technique that allows for examination of multiple proteins within cell populations using fluorescently labeled antibodies. Multi-parameter fluidic-based flow cytometry has been applied to multiple fields of study ranging from basic to clinical immunology, cancer biology, neuroscience, stem cell research and drug discovery. This course will introduce the fundamentals of flow cytometry as well as practical applications in life sciences and medicine. At the end of this training, participants shall have gained strong background level understanding of the technology, its current limitations, and future opportunities. A major goal of the course will be acquisition of practical flow cytometer operation skills as well as accurate data analysis.

- To empower researchers,analyst,medics,laboratory technologists and technicians,immunologists,clinicians,scientists,and post graduate students to obtain the best possible data from their cells using their powerful techniques
- Sharpening the understing of the trainees interms of hands-on or ppractical work/instrumentation.
- To understand Flow Cytometry basics-;to grasp fundamental principles of Flow Cytometry and how Flow Cytometer works and how to select the right flourophores for specific experiments.
- To learn how to prepare good samples for Flow Cytometry(understanding of appropriate controls and staining protocols)
- To gain knowledge on designing and runniong flow cytometry experiments.Also learn to set compensation controls for multicolor fow cytometry and visualize data(Optimization and Troubleshooting)
- To equip individuals with troubleshooting tips for acommon issues encountered during Flow Cytometry analysis-;that is,to equip themselves with troubleshooting skills .
- The trainees to be able to show deeper understanding of the fundamentals of flow cytometry and how the flow cytometer works.This to be shown by the tarinees being able to perform the experiments individually including being able to prepare good samples for flow cytometry.
- The trainees being in a position to peerfom optimization and troubleshooting of the Flow Cytometer.
