Materials chemistry poster symposium

29 November 2024, London, United Kingdom

Introduction
As one of the RSC Material Chemistry Community’s flagship events, this poster symposium brings together outstanding PhD students, post-doctoral researchers, and early-career scientists working in industry. It provides a fantastic opportunity for them to showcase their research and network with peers, leading academics, and industrial chemists, develop their skills, and support their future careers.

Delegates will give a short flash talk and present their posters in a poster session at the RSC’s facilities at Burlington House, London.

On the day, our judges will recognise the two best posters, who will win free registration to the 17th International conference on materials chemistry (MC17) in Edinburgh in July 2025.
Delegates will also choose their favourite poster which will win a prize of a £200 gift voucher for an RSC book.

The Materials chemistry poster symposium is free to attend for successful applicants, who will also receive support for their travel.

Careers consultations

A qualified career and professional development adviser for the Royal Society of Chemistry will be available for free one-to-one, confidential consultations on any aspect of your career. Consultations are available for all delegates and can be booked during your registration.

Your consultation will be for 15 minutes; examples of things your consultation could include:
  • Considering next career step
  • CV check
  • Job searching strategy.

Career discussion panel

The Materials chemistry poster symposium will host a career panel discussion.
Invited speakers from industry and academia will give a brief overview of their careers, followed by a panel discussion and a short question and answer session led by a member of the RSC Careers team.
