SciMed is pleased to announce a Masterclass for Rheological testing which will take place in the SciMed Headquarters in Stockport on Thursday 23rd May 2024.
This Masterclass will be delivered by both SciMed and Thermo-HAAKE applications experts and will focus on a wide range of industrial and research applications.
What will I learn?
The course has been designed so that users of any brand and model of rheometer can attend and benefit.
Many aspects of rheology will be covered including theory (both rotational and oscillatory), tribology, sample preparation and method development.
Fully operational systems will be used for the training to allow participants to get essential and beneficial “hands-on” experience.
Training certificates will be provided to all attendees.
Our Guest speakers:
Dr. Klaus Oldörp - Senior Application Specialist Rheology
Dr. Klaus Oldörp studied chemistry in Hamburg, Germany and did his doctorate with a focus on polymer rheology. At the Fraunhofer WKI he was responsible for the synthesis and analysis of binders for wood-based materials. He then moved to ICI Polyurethanes (later Huntsman Polyurethanes) in Belgium and, as part of the SHE team, was responsible for the safe use of isocyanate-based binders in wood-based panel production. Since 2003, Dr. Oldörp works as senior application specialist rheology at Thermo Fisher Scientific and in this role heads the rheology application laboratory and is active in practical and theoretical user training.
Kevin Barber - Northern Regional Sales Account Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific
