Organic chemistry poster symposium

2 December 2024, London, United Kingdom

Introduction
The annual organic chemistry poster symposium is the RSC Organic Chemistry Community’s flagship event for early career researchers. Dedicated to posters from some of the best final year organic chemistry PhD students in the UK and Ireland, it provides a fantastic opportunity for them to showcase their research and build networks with peers, as well as leading industrial and academic chemists.
Posters are welcome from all areas of organic chemistry, including but not limited to:
  • Bioorganic chemistry and chemical biology
  • Green chemistry
  • Medicinal chemistry
  • Natural products
  • Organic synthesis & synthetic methodologies
  • Physical and theoretical organic chemistry
  • Polymer chemistry
  • Supramolecular, macromolecular and organic materials
The symposia will showcase the top 40 submitted abstracts as selected by the Scientific Organising Committee. On the day each poster presenter will also present a 1-minute flash presentation before their poster session where they will have 90-120 minutes to discuss their work, including dedicated 1-on-1 time with the judges.

A panel of judges will select the best poster of the day, receiving £500, along with two runners up each getting £250. The judges will also select an Industry Prize awarded to the best research poster that demonstrates potential for industrial application.

The organic chemistry poster symposium is free to attend for successful applicants, who will also receive support for their travel.
