The proposed new Programme of Study (PoS) for Science and the implementation challenges for primary and secondary schools - along with wider issues such as the role of practical experiments and field trips; how to engage more students in taking science at further levels of study, as well as how the new PoS fits with those of other subjects in the new National Curriculum such as Design and Technology or Maths for effective cross-curricular teaching.
The conference will bring together key policymakers in the Department for Education with school and college leaders, teaching unions, publishers, universities and employers. Part of the Westminster Education Forum Curriculum Seminar Series considering the content of new Programmes of Study due to be implemented in schools from September 2014.
