Heads of Chemistry UK (HCUK) is an independent body representing the interests of 70 departments engaged in chemical education, scholarship and research in universities and similar institutions throughout the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. It seeks to further the interests of the chemical sciences in higher education in the broadest sense. HCUK is currently chaired by Professor Tom Welton (Dean of Natural Sciences at Imperial College London).
This year’s Autumn conference will feature discussions on recent national policy changes affecting chemistry higher education and research and the next phase of the group’s recent work on university-business engagement. More information on the agenda will be available soon, and the final agenda and papers will be available 1-2 weeks before the conference.
An additional meeting for heads of new, re-opening or small chemistry departments will take place immediately after the conference from 16:15-18:00. Please contact us to request more information about this meeting.
