The Hands-on GCxGC Operator is a two-day advanced course that is designed to introduce the theory and benefits of comprehensive gas chromatography (GCxGC), combining a mixture of classroom-based presentations with hands-on hardware and software laboratory exercises to provide comprehensive training on the subject.
The course delves into the need for GCxGC to improve the resolution when working with difficult and complex samples, and provides an overview of the required instrument set up. It discusses the purpose of GCxGC modulators and reviews the use of both flow and thermal modulators. The course addresses the importance of the selection of suitable columns and will include the installation of columns into the modulator. The course discusses various parameters to get optimal separation for a specific complex sample mix using the standard column set.
The knowledge gained is then used to create GCxGC methods and sets up various modulation and column parameters on the software. The delegate then performs the analysis of a complex diesel sample to review the separation of the analytes. The data analysis is performed using Zoex GC Image software or the Leco ChromaToF software.
At the end of the 2 days, the delegates will have gained the knowledge and some experience of operating a GCxGC system.
This course can be run on the Zoex thermal modulator, Leco thermal modulator or Agilent flow modulator or a mixture of all. Please enquire before booking if there is a preference.
Includes: lunch and refreshments; hardcopy of the training manual in colour; any instrument parts & consumables used; certificate of attendance; ability to discuss own problems.
This course can also be taught both onsite and offsite.
This advanced course requires a high level of knowledge of GC or GC-MS to attend.
