Our double-dipping policy
All authors have the option of publishing their articles through an open access route in our hybrid journals, by paying an article processing charge (APC). In setting our hybrid journal prices, we take into account the change in the number of non-paid open access articles published and cost inflation (CPI). This focus on non-paid open access articles ensures that we avoid "double dipping", a term referring to a situation whereby publishers receive income from both APCs and subscriptions for the open access articles they publish.
Frontiers journals
The not-for-profit society partnership between the Chinese Chemical Society (CCS) and the Royal Society of Chemistry will publish the best research from China, Asia and the rest of the world to an international audience. This collaboration celebrates a new phase in scientific growth, and will provide researchers with unparalleled opportunities for global visibility and international collaboration.
An integral part of the development of each journal is collaboration with a top Chinese institute in the relevant field. Each Frontiers journal is jointly owned by the CCS, the Royal Society of Chemistry, and the relevant partner institute, with each owner bringing their expertise to the project.
