Archiving policies
Digital preservation policy
We are acutely aware of the need to ensure that our online publishing content is made perpetually available for the benefit of our authors, funders, and library partners. This continues to be true as we move towards our commitment to 100% Open Access in 2028.
We, therefore, have an archiving policy in place through which we are committed to preserving our online content (electronic journals and eBooks) in the leading digital archive products, CLOCKSS, LOCKSS, and Portico, to ensure that these resources are preserved in the long term.
Legal deposit
Our electronic journals and eBooks are also deposited with the British Library so that we comply with the English legal deposit legislation. We also deposit our two magazines, Chemistry World and Education in Chemistry, and the few print-only books which we publish.
