Biography

Expert outsourcing solution for R&D projects and formulation development.

Over 12 years' experience in new product development for the building and construction industry. Specialising in formulating new products and reformulating existing products using more sustainable and environmentally friendly materials.

Recent achievements have been:

• Development of an environmentally friendly foam filler to replace PU foam fillers.
• Development of non-combustible inorganic acoustic insulation products.
• Development of jet fire resistant panels for oil and gas industries.
• Development of non-combustible building insulation products to replace mineral wool and PIR.

Considerable experience in collaborative research across multinational R&D teams ranging from academic, commercial, government and NGO sectors. This includes leading and managing EU, DfT and Innovate UK grant funded projects.

Prince2 qualified and a skilled project manager having managed projects over £2 million. Expertise in generating fresh ideas and multidisciplinary experience enables comprehensive solutions to be offered by solving a range of problems. For example, developing a formulation for a product and then coupling it with the correct applicator.

Sound knowledge and experience with Intellectual Property, in particular IP strategy and portfolio management across a number of territories for over 10 years. Experience includes working with attorneys to draft patents, assess prior art and form strategies to respond to examiners as well as IP defence. Several patents granted and others pending.
