Biography

I provide specialist R&D product development services for the FMCG sector across multiple categories including personal care & cosmetic products, cleaning products, fragrances, flavours, and beverages. With over 20 years of experience in product development with Global FMCG companies, particularly in fragrances, I provide a range of technical services from product ideation, product design, prototyping, product development and scale-up for manufacture.

My technical expertise enables me to solve all manner of technical challenges across many product categories. I thrive on translating complex science into business relevant solutions. I have expertise in technology transfer from academia to industry and scale-up from bench to pilot and full plant scale. I have expertise in fragrance chemistry & formulation, actives encapsulation & delivery systems, materials science, technical test methods and applications of physical chemistry in an industrial context.

In fragranced products I have expertise in combining perfume delivery systems and fragrance design to create winning fragrances and business focused innovation. Highly experienced at Intellectual Property, I am expert in IP strategy and portfolio development, patentability assessment, patent drafting and management working directly with attorneys, technology prior art landscaping, and competitive intelligence assessment. As a R&D technical leader I am expert at building R&D organisational capability. I enable diverse R&D team collaboration and open innovation with academics, start-ups and established suppliers. I am an expert in technology translation across R&D functions and with business partners. I am an enabler of partnerships between product manufacturers and raw materials suppliers.
