Biography
Susan M. Lunte is the Ralph N. Adams Distinguished Professor of Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Director of the Adams Institute for Bioanalytical Chemistry, and Director of the NIH COBRE Center for Molecular Analysis of Disease Pathways at the University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS.
She received a B.S. degree in chemistry from Kalamazoo College and a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry in 1984 from Purdue University. She served as an associate editor and then Editor-in-Chief of Analytical Methods between 2009-2017.
She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, American Association for the Advancement of Science, American Chemical Society and American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. In 2018 she received the ANACHEM Award.
Dr. Lunte’s research interests include the development of new methodologies for separation and detection of peptides, amino acids, neurotransmitters, and pharmaceuticals in biological fluids. This includes separation-based sensors for the continuous monitoring of drugs and neurotransmitters in freely roaming animals and new methodologies for the determination of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species in cells.
